Southington Girls Softball Leagueis made up largely of volunteers, and the operation of the league is comprised of many activities that take place 'behind the scenes'. Did you know that we have:
A Field Maintenance Committee to keep our 10 playing fields - dedicated solely to Southington girls in grades K-12 - in a good and safe condition;
Various pre-season Organization Committees;
A Concession Stand Committee to help in the operation of our main source of income;
A Fundraising Committee,
An End of Season celebration Committee,
Charity tournaments Committees,
and much more.
All of this activity is done for the benefit of all our girls by volunteers. SGSL is one of the finest, if not the finest, facility within the state of Connecticut, dedicated to girls' softball. Comments validating this have been made year after year by coaches and officials both within and outside of the Town of Southington. However, none of this happens without your help.
It's true that everyone has a busy schedule these days, but just a few hours of your time can be an invaluable contribution to both the league and to our girls' total experience of the sport. So please, ask any of our Executive Board members how you can get involved and take pride in knowing that your contribution helped to make treasured memories on these fields for your young girl to last a lifetime.
On behalf of the SGSL Executive Board, thank you,
President, Southington Girls Softball League
